The effectiveness of leadership development in the military context from a gender viewpoint

In this case study, leadership development is investigated from the viewpoint of women in a military context. particular, effectiveness program specific context, namely Finnish Defence Forces, explored. The being studied unique because it concerned with developing volunteers, not professional soldiers. A longitudinal, interview-based study topic was conducted who had participated program. data consists 45 open-ended interviews 15 women. Each woman interviewed three times: at beginning, middle and end Content analysis used to analyse data. results show that current model for effective Forces would benefit especially addition an intrapersonal competence dimension, better take women's needs into consideration. By making female point view visible acknowledging views, new resources can be created organisations.
